With such balmy weather outside, we all need a little reggae drum and bass to bring us to that ultimate level of chill. Here is a beautifully paced track from Benny Page with everything one requires from a dub groove and a dnb banger.

Promised Land (Calvertron Remix)

Billy Newton Davis' classic is reworked by Calvertron and it has become a filthy beast. Great vocal build up; gated synths and vocal sampling with a teasing minimal beat, but nothing can prepare you for the lunacy of the drop. When you think the song has given you all it has to offer, the second drop blows your mind away; just listen and you will see.

Netsky - Pirate Bay

Outstanding liquid tune from Netsky. Tight beats, ear-catching lead synths and a deep resounding bassline makes for a very typical Netsky piece but nonetheless a great track. My favourite part is the early noughties-esque portamento stab at the build up; so catchy.

MistaJam with Doctor P

Last week BBC 1XTRA released an outstanding three hour mix with so much new music that it should have been an illegal broadcast. It had some really varied stuff, from drum and bass to new hip hop and garage and at the end, hard hitting filthy dub. With Doctor P, Funtcase and an unusually good spin by MistaJam, this mix should really be given a listen. Here is the beginning of MistaJam's set and most of Doctor P's mix. Wolfgang Gartner - Forever (Instrumental)

I'm not a particular fan of the original but the instrumental reveals once again the genius that is Wolfgang Gartner. Trademark pad and synth layered build ups with heavy driving bass lines in the drop; varied and original yet all that we have come to expect from this electro-house god.

Asher Roth - More Cowbell

Asher Roth has a surprisingly chill flow considering how clichéd he often is but he just truly has a gift for spitting. He's has been pretty prolific this year, releasing a new track almost every month and they are all great tunes to sit back and relax to. My favourite this year is 'More Cowbell' with a really unique beat that he was apparently sent on his soundcloud and just came up with a rap for it by the next day.  Here are my favourite of his tracks including a couple of his releases this year.

Community Nap (StrobeHypnoticz Remix)

Deadmau5, continuing on his varied journey through electronic music, is remixed by StrobeHypnoticz into this almost symphonic piece with emotional movements and developments. A beautiful progressive house vibe with a very similar style to what Deadmau5 often does himself; enjoy this entrancing piece.

Breakbot's next groovy gem is out and it sounds scrumptious. The disco weaving producer has made waves recently with non stop releases filled with funky grooves. His unique style follows the nu-disco genre and accents the most endearing synths and rhythms. Here are some of my favourites by him; these prove that this day and age still has great music.

KOAN Sound - Can You Hear Us

As you may have gathered by now, I have quite an affinity to KOAN Sound's music. I think this is because they are one of the artists out there really pushing the boundaries of what we already know and it's also because their stuff is sick. Here we have them experimenting further; mixing their new more chill sound with their 'zappa bomb squad' synth style. Awesome song.

A very mainstream upload for me but this track has one of the most enticing and elating build ups so far this year. A trance lead with a tight house beat makes for my favourite Example outing so far. This track desperately needs to be remixed into an epic dnb or dubstep banger since I'm not completely satisfied with the current attempts but here is the original with a couple of the best remixes out there.

Vaski - Storm Chaser

Classic dub madness from Vaski; Storm Chaser embodies his usual style but with more wobbles than ever. Violin ensemble-esque pads lead through his masterfully constructed build up accompanied with full synths and deep bass undertones. Cold Blank also impresses with his take on the track with an electro-house club tune. Bangers all round.

Figure and Will Bailey's filthy monster gets the remix treatment by DJ Ether. Deep, heavy basslines and a focus on the already epic melodious intro of the original; the drum and bass version I so sorely wanted is finally here.

Quinten 909 & Koch release a new track defining house in its simplest form. A summery, open feeling with such a tight groove; it sucks the listener in and doesn't let go.

Classic Chromeo disco tune gets a rework into an aggressive beast; NEUS is on fire these past few weeks with this monster of a track and his banging remix of Rebecca Black. Heavy dirty synths with a wonderful syncopated style which he also employs in his electro-house as shown by the third feature today. Watch out for this guy; he will clearly be making waves in the future.

The Weeknd - What You Need

Bringing it down a notch here for our Sunday feature we have the new album released by The Weeknd. It is a real work of art with what's being described as R&B/Dubstep fusion; I suggest you check it out as the album is a real original piece and is a new step for dubstep. The track today is my favourite from the album and reminds me of Burial during the period of his second album. Sublime and absorbing, this piece takes me to alternate horizons. The clap rises to a rhythmic piecing together of the musical confusion every two bars; pure groove.

More from the bucket load of reggae I received; such classic tunes and wonderful mixing with those oh so memorable and overplayed samples. A small 10 minute part of a mix by Saxon and Rodigan that encapsulates the genius and heavy bass that one experiences at a true Sound System.

1975 & The Twilight Zone

Zeds Dead release two new singles of pure dubstep goodness. 1975 is one of their saw wave dubstep anthems with the words of Pulp Fiction to carry us through the drop while The Twilight Zone is slightly offbeat for the duo. It sees a more classic dubstep style with deep growling lfo's and treble wobbles. Much thanks to Zed's Dead for these releases because not only are they bangers but also free.

Skrillex returns to form with his first track in a long time without the same presets as every one previously. His first drumstep attempt and it is huge; this one is going to be heard in clubs for a good while.

This City (Asa & KOAN Sound Remix)

KOAN Sound seems to be developing into a more calming style which would have been the last thing I would have guessed for the master of dubstep lunacy. However, in this musical outing, their unconventional style of syncopation to the point of almost arhythm is employed to great effect in conveying the chill mood in this remix of Kito and Reija Lee. This is a beautiful piece from Asa & KOAN and I hope they continue to explore.

Deadmau5 delves into experimental progressive house territory with this 11 minute odyssey. Classic trance plucks and harmonious pads layered with a tight house beat makes for a journey not to be taken lightly. Not a massive fan of all of Deadmau5' experimental work but this more than lives up to its recent hype.

Sexy Party (Terravita Remix)

J.Rabbit and Tremourz' banger is given new life by Terravita. The original's devastation on the dancefloor didn't need much change and subsequently, Terravita have remixed it in a minimalist way. A heavier bassline and more energetic, changing sounds has resulted in, if it were possible, an even sexier party. Do you know what time it is?
