Nero brings back the filth with his Figure-esque dubstep edit of Bar 9's original beast "Shaolin Style". It has been a while since I have been absorbed by a straight up drop-shocking, grimy tune but this track hits every note perfectly; prepare to be blasting this non-stop for the days to come. Also featured are two free releases, the new Bytesize track which further proves his production genius and a Doorly remix of a classic Basement Jaxx song, "Raindrops", which I just can't get out of my head.

Big Bad Wolf (Dada Life Remix)

The new house banger from Duck Sauce catches the dancefloor with its repetitive and incredibly catchy lyrical flow. The inspired original has been re-imagined to create a melodic electro version which feels far deeper and expansive and in many ways bring out a darker, foreboding element to the song in the breakdown. The Toddla T remix is also a tune with its heavy bass and soca style beat and Gesaffelstein kills it in his mix with a truly minimal and dirty synth drop.

Nero - Reaching Out

Nero's newest indulgence in 80s-esque, casual dubstep brings a new sound to the table. Catchy is a massive understatement with its rolling almost laboured synth melodies that put you into a state of absolute calm. Also the music video is a step forward with its high production values and great vision; prepare to be blasted into a bass heavy Miami Vice with this release slated for the 18th. DJ Choppa Dunks & Mista Marcel - Check My Steelo

It has been a while since my last update as I have been starved of any home access to internet for almost a week. It has been a traumatic period but the information orgy has begun as of last night to make up for it. Today I bring you the debut EP of DJ Choppa Dunks and Mista Marcel; a unique construction of moombah-house with remixed hit vocals and classic tunes encompasses this release. My favourites are the club banger "Horsey" with its intensely catchy Pon De Floor-esque synth lead and the remix of "Toes" as it completely smooths out the tone of the EP with an almost trance interlude that evolves into a very 90s sounding dance tune.

I am still getting to grips with this emerging genre and have definitely not jumped on the bandwagon yet, but if there has been any song this year that fills me with encouragement and gets me excited for the new sounds this type of music can bring, it's this outstanding tune from D!RTY AUD!O. Doctor P's already filthy original gets a rework into a intensely rhythmic track, the drop is so unique and completely draws you into the beat; I just love that synth!

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Trouble

The enigmatic man is back with his debut studio album on the horizon; his newest EP has brought him into the limelight with yet more sublime eccentricities and unexpected progressions. "Trouble" sees his first full vocal track with him on the mic and as such it has been picked up by countless music savants, salivating over the oppurtunity to remix his verve and charm. However, this new track is not his only success; another blend of his unique styles gave birth to the tune "Garden" recently, which deserves just as much attention.

Juke @ Fabric

The mix that brought Chicago Juke to the shores of the UK from none other than Headhunter keeps me just as light on my feet even today with rhythms no one else would dare to drop in a venue like Fabric. Nonetheless the place went off when this mix was played in late 2009 and for good reason. So here it is; the definitive Juke mix you have been waiting for.

Dub Overload

I feel that I have been neglecting dubstep far too much over the last few posts and as such bring you a dirty dose of your favourite wobbly genre. A lot of releases have been catching my attention, one of which is the newest EP from KOAN Sound, "Funk Blaster". While the production is of their usual high standard with arrhythm aplenty, the tunes lack originality and quite frankly I was disappointed with the EP on the whole. However, separately the tracks are a nice outing from the normal formula of dubstep; here is my favourite from the release.

Finally here as of Monday and what a worthwhile wait. It has taken me a while to feature this because my days since the 24th have been comprised only of listening to Justice's masterpiece on repeat. While the previews allowed us to loosely grasp the concept of this release being very different to their primary work, nothing could have prepared me for the raw originality and verve that this album is filled with. Half of the LP sounds like it is an 70s self-righteous prog rock concept album; but when "Ohio" breaks down into a no-holds barred electro groove, you're not sure what to classify it as. All you know is that this album is amazing and, while not as much of a dance record as many expected, will keep everyone's attention for the time to come.

Figure - Mr. Hyde

Another dose of absolute, absurd filth comes our way from Figure. Remaining true to his distinctive style, this release brings even more film samples and dark, figures of horror into the dubstep arena. "Mr. Hyde" is the gem of this release; the second drop of the full version is so unexpected and heavy with its counter-intuitive rhythmic style. Also, though not quite as original and inspired, another release sees a free remix of one of my favourite Halloween inspired songs, "This is Halloween".

Justice - Newlands

So close now to the monumental release of Audio, Video, Disco and two more singles have been exposed. The first, "Canon" is following the same vein of thought as much of the album so far, with the lighter but rocky dance tune vibe; it reminds me very much of the rhythm of the Gorillaz' "Stylo". However, while bringing another layer of sound to the album, it does not do too much to stand out and impress. In contrast, the song hailed as a homage to 80's glam rock, basks in its own perfection and guts to do something different; "Newlands" is the new sound of bedrooms and clubs around the world, I just cannot get enough of its uplifting drive.

DJ Choppa Dunks & DJ Swave - V.I.P

The new EP is dropping from DJ Choppa Dunks; big sounds to be expected as the Bermudian house producer lays down fresh beats, reminiscent of Avicii at times, with a big-room and dutch house vibe all mixed into one. This will definitely get the club pumping.

Mosca - Bax

Stellar release from the new man in UK Garage; hailing from London, Mosca has brought some seriously old school beats with his fresh EP. The first track of the release, "Done Me Wrong" brings a vocal samlping, atmospheric classic but, for me, the show is stolen by "Bax". This tune is nothing but class, reminiscent of the early noughties, the bass is so subtly layered under the tight, clean beat; it makes me want to start a UKG mixset every time I hear it.

Lights (Shook Remix)

Another bite of Nu-disco today with two delicious tunes; Shook takes on the task of remixing the revered and often sampled Ellie Goulding and Jean Tonique releases a groovy gem. Both are filled with 80s character to the core with Shook's track seeming so light and airy while retaining a solid beat and rhythm and "My Baby" pulling out the outrageously funky disco synths.

Recently released on a podcast mix are a myriad of fresh tracks from none other than Zeds Dead; just when I thought that they had settled into a disctintive style, they have shaken up the confines of their productions once more. Justice - Helix

Many are slighting Justice's new releases; I myself, although I agree the production is not in the direction I had anticipated, think that this new spell of indie electro-rock is exciting. So far the duo has awed me with the progressive delights of modern rock with the club taste I desperately desire. The newest sneak preview of the album is "Helix" and with this, they have taken their new approach even further; from 2:45 onwards, it is an absolute classic in the making.

Wolfgang Gartner - Weekend In America

The new "Weekend In America" album is almost here and it will bring new stellar tracks from the man who has been hailed as the Beethoven of our times. Of the new content, my favourites are near the end of the LP; "The Way It Was" is bursting with intricate melodies and chord progressions only broken up by distorted aural madness in the drop. "The Champ" is somewhat reminiscent of Space Junk which also features on the album and "Shrunken Heads" brings a far harsher raw synth to the table; enjoy.
