Perfect drum & bass from Subwave released a good while back by Hospital Records. The vocal breakdown is sublime, seamlessly travelling through the subtle but rhythmic aural bliss; this is liquid dnb at its finest.

Skrillex - Rock N Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain)

Skrillex's new music video drops and is a great exhibition of touring this decade as an EDM musician. With cameos from all the main acts in the dubstep game, it is a treat just to pick them out. Also, the hype for the video made me remember the merits of this frenetic dubstep tune. My favourite part is when the "rudeboy bass, mash-up the place"; such an insanely heavy drop.

Wolfgang Gartner - Undertaker

In the last few days, I have been rummaging through the back catalogue of Wolfgang Gartner finding gem among gem and generally blasting a lot of quality house music. I have concluded that, as I expected, he is a genius and has evolved so much over the past few years. However, his ingenuity has remained throughout and is displayed clearly in a handful of his best pieces. I am featuring the best finds and most standout tunes below; the buildup melodies and synths are just banging.

Deep rolling liquid from MuWookie sees heavy basslines twisting and turning with the intensity of a club tune but with such subtlety that it merely resonates the soul alongside the sublime piano riff and beautiful vocals.

Rusko - Asda 2 (Preview)

Rusko kills it with his new preview, Asda 2 (likely the working title). Old school simplicity makes this seem very promising sporting vowel bass aplenty and that special Rusko tempo that perfectly fits the uplifting filth of his tracks. I am sure we are all waiting with bated breath for the release in the near future, but for now we will have to settle for this.

Always Tomorrow (Figure's Drumstep Remix)

I have been a bit skeptical during the rise of drumstep as I couldn't quite get my head around how to treat it. However, with stellar tracks such as this adeptly produced piece from Figure, I am starting to see its promise. With a well paced drumstep rhythm remaining more true to dubstep than any other form of EDM, Hirshee's & Sue Cho's original has been transformed into a wobbling beast. Vowel bass, glitching distortions and synth pad hits make for this frenzy of everything encouraging in this emerging subgenre.
